Last Sunday I went out to shoot at Venice Beach for a photography tutorial project I’m working on (more on that to come). I coerced fellow Chicago expat friends Tamara and J.B. into helping—Tamara modeled and J.B. shot behind-the-scenes video (and thanks to Nathan for assisting). We got lucky with a particularly lovely magic hour sky.
Last Friday the Chicago area was treated to a sublime sunset sky. Here’s a shot (7 actually, stitched together) taken near my studio in Douglas Park. I’m reminded of something Frank Lloyd Wright once said, “I believe in God, only I spell it “Nature”.
I shot this on Monday around 7PM in Douglas Park near my studio. The light was magical. That’s my shadow in the foreground.
I shot these pictures last night in Chinatown–the first one at 6:53, the last one at 7:30. If these were movie stills, what’s the plot?
